John Browning's design is more than a century old and still one of the finest fighting and target pistols ever built — but its tolerances, geometry, and small-parts fit reward a gunsmith who works on the platform every week. Extractor tension, sear and hammer engagement, thumb-safety fit, and feed-ramp geometry are all judgment calls, not catalog items.

Every 1911 that comes across the bench is inspected, function-tested, and evaluated before a job is quoted. You are told plainly what the pistol needs, what it does not need, and what it will cost. Work that falls outside a home-shop's proper scope is referred to a trusted craftsman we know personally — never taken on to pad a bill.

Trigger & Action Work

Clean, safe trigger jobs on hammer, sear, and disconnector — never with stones on stock parts unless appropriate. We favor drop-in match parts fit by hand, with every safety function re-verified.

Sight Installation & Regulation

Fixed, night, fiber, and optic-ready sights installed and regulated for the load you carry. Dovetail cuts and fitting performed to spec; refinish coordinated when required.

Small-Parts Fitting & Repair

Thumb safety, grip safety, mainspring housing, plunger tube, slide stop, and magazine catch replacement and fitting. Correct GI, Series 70, and Series 80 systems supported.

Detail Cleaning & Inspection

Complete detail strip, ultrasonic where appropriate, inspection of every component, lubrication, reassembly, and a written condition report. Recommended annually or every 1,500 rounds.
